Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was in India today for a Townhall Q&A at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Thanks to growth of bounty app‘s visibility in the market, facebook sent us an invite to the event. It was an exiting opportunity to learn from founder of the startup with highest number of users in the world today!
The questions were selected from comments on facebook and from the audience live at the event. Answering to why
Why Facebook is interested in India? Zuckerberg said Facebook wants to connect every person in the world and India is the world’s largest democracy.
Answering question about Oculus VR he said “World moved from text to photos, to videos and next is Virtual Reality”. He said he expecting a daughter and wants his family to be there when she takes her first steps. That is going to be really magical, at some point, you are going to be able to share these experiences through your facebook feed!
On startup culture he said he has seen this culture of people want to build a company before they knew what they were doing. Building a company is hard. You really need to care about something before you do that. Most companies he knew were started by people who just cared about something. If you’re starting something, focus on the impact its going to have and not just starting the company.
Zukersberg said he made a lot of mistakes and the reason why FB exists today and is serving more than 1.5 billion people is because we are helping people do something very important in life connect with friends and family. ”They then forgive us for our mistakes. We will make mistakes in future as well because we are human. It’s not about the mistakes we don’t wanna make, but just to do as much good as I can, ” he said.
It is amazing to see what Mark Zuckerberg has achieved at such an young age. Overall the session was very inspiring to me and hope that it motivated a lot others to startup!
