“Limited access” or even worse, “No internet access”.
I immediately pick up the phone, dial the extension and call the IT Support guys!
Each and every one of you reading this blog entry must have encountered this ultra-frustrating situation :
when you just WANT that mail to go out, when you just WANT to access Google and at that very moment, you see that annoying yellow exclamatory mark over the Wi-Fi symbol,
saying Limited internet access / No internet access.
To value health, one must fall sick! To value money, one must experience its dearth. Similarly, to value internet connection, one must see that yellow mark and scream out loud!
This morning, I encountered one such situation and it got me pondering over how dependent on internet connections I am. It didn’t take long to realise that Google tracks my location, my calendar events, my notes, my music preferences and what not?!
Have you ever used GPS to navigate around an unfamiliar place and lost the network connection?
Completely lost and driving around aimlessly, I stopped over to buy myself a bottle of water at a local chai shop. And there, in the middle of God knows where, I heard that Ka-Ching! of the Bounty app.
I immediately scrambled around for my phone because, Hello!
Where is the net connection?
Then I remembered the Location Detection Technology that the app uses which enabled me to get my points without having any internet connection.
Yes, that’s right!
This app does not need any mobile data/net connection to detect your presence at a partner restaurant to reward you with your points!
So the next time there’s no internet connection at some place or you haven’t recharged the data pack on your phone, and you still get your points…
You’ll know the cool technology which enables that!
To which I say, chapeau, Team Bounty!!
