Yesterday, we had a customer reaching out to us for a catering order. He wants to order food for about 40 people comprising of both Vegetarian & Non-vegetarian fare. We suggested nearby Meghana Foods, Marathahalli from our partner network . Though MeDine really does not support catering and bulk orders, going by our single most important principle of consumer experience, we took the order and clamored around to make sure that the partner restaurant took the order. Since the customer wanted some good assortment of veg and non-veg dishes, we catered to Chicken Biryani, Veg Biryani, Reshmi Kabab, Tangidi Kabab, Gobi Manchurian, Golden Baby Corn etc. Since the catering order value was high, we even squeezed in a few Cokes, Thumbs up, Limcas, etc free of cost. Now there remained one single issue -how is the customer going to eat since its an office party and he likely will not have paper plates etc. So we asked Meghana to provide for some paper plates, glasses etc and the restaurant guys said they will provide banana leaves since its the standard package and cannot go shopping paper plates now. Understandable ,but who is going to solve the customer’s problem ?
So, being MeDine we sent our Operations manager on paper plates hunting, took the entire costs on our end and hopefully waiting to see a pleasant and happy MeDiner for all the pleasures of serving the customer.
